Eva St Maria – releases the single ‘Always Have You’ you can now read our review here

With ‘Always Have You’, Irish singer-songwriter Eva St Maria delivers a quietly powerful reminder of the people who steady us when life feels unmoored. Based in Berlin, St Maria brings a sense of distance and reflection to her songwriting, and this single feels shaped by both emotional closeness and lived experience.

Originally conceived as a song about friendship, ‘Always Have You’ has grown into something more expansive. It unfolds as a love song not bound by one definition of love, but open to interpretation, a tribute to friends, family, or romantic partners who remain constant through difficult periods. That universality is one of the song’s greatest strengths. Rather than leaning into grand declarations, St Maria opts for intimacy, allowing the listener to project their own relationships and memories into the song’s emotional core.

Her vocal delivery is tender and unforced, carrying a warmth that feels reassuring rather than performative. There’s a sense of trust in the way the song is written, as if it’s speaking directly to someone who needs to hear it. The arrangement supports this feeling, leaving space for the lyrics to breathe and for the emotion to land naturally.

‘Always Have You’ feels like a song you return to during moments of uncertainty — a gentle anchor rather than a dramatic crescendo. In capturing the quiet endurance of love in its many forms, Eva St Maria proves that sometimes the most impactful songs are the ones that simply stay with you, offering comfort without asking for anything in return.

Always Have You‘ scores a 7 out of 10
