The UK’s next global superstar Erin LeCount releases her new single, ‘THE CINEMA’, out now via Atlantic Records. It is the first release from Erin since the release of her critically and commercially acclaimed EP, PAREIDOLIA. ‘THE CINEMA’ premiered last night on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Hottest Record’.
On ‘THE CINEMA’, Erin LeCount demonstrates why she is one of the most acclaimed and exciting new artists to emerge onto the scene today, with an artistic vision that is unfalteringly and unmistakably her. The track’s expansive production, which was produced by Erin along with co-producers Jim E-Stack (Lorde, HAIM, Empress Of) and Emile Haynie (Lana Del Rey, FKA Twigs, Bruno Mars), is coupled with her hauntingly beautiful vocals and lyrics. ‘THE CINEMA’ has a sound that falls between art-pop and baroque-pop, and it is a track that signifies the lofty trajectory Erin LeCount has in store for her already impressive career.
Speaking about ‘THE CINEMA’, Erin said:
“I wrote and produced THE CINEMA because I was so creatively blocked that hearing any good pop song on the radio, seeing any beautiful movie at the theatre would bring me to tears. I felt grief for all the art I wish I was making, and translated all my frustration and obsession into a synth pop satire. Can a pop song possess you? The spirit of a chorus so infuriatingly catchy that it drives you to madness, that repeats over and over, wherever you go, haunting and reminding you of all the songs you could’ve written, but you didn’t.”
In February 2026, Erin released her newest EP, PAREIDOLIA. The entire EP was written, recorded, and produced by Erin herself. The EP includes singles ‘ALICE’, ‘DON’T YOU SEE ME TRYING’, ‘I BELIEVE’, ‘MACHINE GHOST’, and ‘808 HYMN’. It is a defining body of work that sets Erin on a trajectory to become one of the biggest artists in the world.
Earlier this year in May, Erin LeCount embarked on her biggest run of shows to date, where she played shows in Manchester, Glasgow, Bristol, and London, the latter of which took place at the Roundhouse in what was Erin’s largest headline show so far.
In August, Erin will support Lorde at All Points East date on Saturday 22nd August.
