Pier, solo moniker for Pierfrancesco Dessì, is set to generate a significant buzz with the release of his latest single, “Like A Moth To A Flame”. This captivating track is a sneak peek into his much-anticipated debut, “The Harvest EP” slated for release in spring 2024, and delves into the complexities of idealization and self- destructiveness.
An hypnotic combo of vocals and guitar licks unfolds into a vast soundscape of shoegazey guitars, intricate rhythmic patterns and huge reverbs, reaching a climax of harsh distorted sounds before dissolving into an intimate epilogue.
“Like A Moth To A Flame” further states Pier’s ability to traverse diverse musical territories.
“I was in Sardinia when I had the idea for the song. Driving back to Sarroch (my hometown), you can see two tall towers and their flames that stand out from the rest of the refinery skyline, it gets pretty epic at night. That was the view I had while I was driving back home, and the person I wrote the song about was on the passenger seat. So I guess the song is as much about that as it is about anybody that keeps chasing delusional love to their own detriment.”

Co-produced and mixed by Ber Quinn (Lisa Hannigan / John Grant / The Divine Comedy etc.) and mastered by Ruairi O’Flaherty of Nomograph Mastering (Lana Del Rey)
“The Harvest EP” is poised to be a defining moment in his musical journey, promising a collection of songs that showcase the depth and diversity of his artistry.
