Croíthe / Anemoia / Babyrat / Squire – Circuit Breaker live gallery and review from Bank Lane Waterford 08.11.2025

Circuit Breaker Launches at Bank Lane.

Bank Lane kicked off its brand-new live music series Circuit Breaker last night Saturday, November 8th. From the talent on show last night it’s safe to say it set the bar high for what’s to come.

The event, run in collaboration with MCD, is all about spotlighting emerging Irish acts and giving them a platform right here in Waterford. It’s a great initiative, and honestly, Bank Lane has been doing a lot of these kinds of things lately, if you’ve been following their socials, you’ll know exactly what I mean. It’s brilliant to see that kind of energy happening locally.

Local favourites Squire opened the night and made a real impression. They showed no nerves whatsoever, playing with a confidence that’s only been growing in recent months. I’ve been keeping an eye on them lately, and they’re definitely a promising act.

Croíthe and Anemoia both delivered standout sets too and were totally in their element on stage. They’ve shared bills before, and seeing them bring that chemistry to a Waterford crowd felt like a perfect fit for the night.

The other act on the bill was Babyrat, who completely owned the room. Their set was easily one of the highlights. It was full of energy and connection mixed with a real professionalism. They covered every inch of the venue, stepping down into the crowd a couple of times to really bring everyone into their world. The crowd was totally locked in from start to finish.

All in all, Circuit Breaker was something that is desperately needed, not just in Waterford but throughout the country.  Hopefully this event kicks on from here and we get to see lots more exciting talent come to Waterfords Bank Lane.
