Cork DJ Tuáthla – Crowned Red Bull Turn It Up Munster Champion and Heads to National Fina

Cyprus Avenue was packed to the rafters on Saturday night as four of Munster’s best DJs battled it out for Cork’s spot in the Red Bull Turn It Up National Final in November. After a night of curveballs and crowd votes, it was TUÁTHLA who came out on top.

With no judges and no pre-planned sets, Natmac, Tuáthla, 00frost and Rosina had just one audience to win over: the Cork crowd, who held all the power in deciding who went through.

Round by round, the DJs were thrown new themes with little warning, from Festival Main Stage and Global Grooves, through to Rebel County Energy,  and Movie Soundtracks. That forced them to switch genres on the fly and read the room under pressure. When the final battle came down toTuáthla v Natmac, and the crowd made its call: Tuáthla takes Cork.

Host Leah Hayden Cassidy kept the night moving, with Milan Continental Final champion DJ Onai hyping up the crowd between sets.

Tuáthla now joins Dublin champion Dacosta in the Red Bull Turn It Up National Final on November 5th at Dublin’s Button Factory, with two places still up for grabs. Galway and Belfast are next, and tickets are on sale now.
