Common Threads – have announced lineup for lineup for 2025

On Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 13th October 2025, the breathtaking surrounds of The Burren North provides the backdrop for Common Threads – a three-day trail of musical and cultural discovery featuring performances from Martin Hayes, Morgana, Daithi, RÓIS, Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Lullahush, Bantum, Aindrias de Staic, Sally Cinnamon, Graham Dolan, Sunday Spinners, Piqué, Common Threads DJ’s + more to be announced.

Now in its third year, Common Threads is curated and programmed by Peter Kelly and Daithí O Dronaí. With over a decade of experience in Ireland’s music and arts scene, they aim to break the mold on what a traditional music festival/event looks like, and explore the common links/threads between a vibrant local community, key cultural spaces and an important natural landscape, while embellishing all of these common threads with art, live music, wellness, food, and discovery.

‘’Heading into our third year in the Burren feels both exciting and grounding,” says Peter.  “We’ve learned more each year, refocusing and putting care into the areas that matter most while staying true to the spirit that shaped Common Threads. And of course, we have some extra bells and whistles in store, making sure every artist and attendee has a really special weekend on the west coast.’’

This year, Common Threads invites audiences on a journey through the Burren to explore the evolving landscape of Irish music. Travelling by bus to unique performance settings — from caves to historic castles — guests will experience boundary-pushing sounds and fresh interpretations of tradition, all set against the region’s stunning natural backdrop.

“This year’s theme focuses on new approaches to Irish music, from RÓIS’s contemporary sean-nós explorations, to Lullahush’s innovative use of Irish samples, and Colm Mac Con Iomaire’s powerful take on traditional fiddle.,” says Daithi. “As always, we’re bringing the party too; and I’m especially excited to have one of my favourites, Morgana, leading the charge.”

The Burren is a unique and stunningly beautiful area of North Clare, known for its rugged landscapes, diverse flora and fauna, and rich cultural heritage. The area is home to a thriving community of artists, musicians, and craftspeople, and has a long and fascinating history of cultural and artistic expression.

Committed to sustainability, Common Threads aims to minimize its environmental impact by collaborating with local suppliers and vendors to source eco-friendly products and materials. The event highlights local food and drink producers and encourages attendees to reduce their environmental footprint through initiatives like a litter-free policy and waste reduction measures. Festival-goers will travel by bus between venues to further reduce the event’s environmental impact.
