Clutch – to release “Earth Rocker” as Clutch Collector’s Series remastered limited edition

CLUTCH fans! For the first time ever, fan favourite album Earth Rocker is getting a Clutch Collector’s Series release! Pre-orders are live now for a stunning ‘grape ghost’ colour 12″ vinyl. Strictly limited to 6000 worldwide, this edition is set for release on June 5th, via the band’s own Weathermaker label.

Fully remastered by Paul Logus, the album was then cut at half speed onto the master disc, allowing more information to transfer and creating a higher fidelity vinyl. The die-cut, spot gloss gatefold sleeve features redesigned cover artwork from Nick Lakiotes, the artist of the original Earth Rocker release. Each record comes with a signed and numbered insert.

Produced by Machine and originally released in October 2013, Earth Rocker is a high-octane return to hard-hitting rock fundamentals. It eschewed some of the bluesier, more experimental textures of their previous work in favour of lean, riff-driven songs built for maximum impact. The title track and “D.C. Sound Attack!” hit like a freight train, while “Crucial Velocity” and “Gone Cold” show the band locking into that unmistakable CLUTCH groove. The LP also includes “Cyborg Bette” and “The Wolf Man Kindly Requests…” which have become two of the band’s most loved live tracks in their ever-varying setlists. Ringmaster Neil Fallon, as ever, ties it all together with his sardonic wit and larger-than-life vocal delivery. It’s a record that pulls no punches.

CLUTCH have released a short video on their official YouTube of Fallon unboxing and discussing the finished item in all its glory, which you can watch below.
