Ciaran Lavery – shares ‘Everything Considered’ Taken from upcoming album Light Entertainment’

With the release of Ciaran Lavery’s upcoming ambitious new LP Light Entertainment out next month (15th November through Nettwerk), the acclaimed Northern Irish singer-songwriter has today shared the final single titled ‘Everything Considered’. Listen to the track here and watch the video below.

“‘Everything Considered’ deals with the rising levels of dissatisfaction expressed universally through what is felt as inadequate leadership, whether that be in relationships or via governmental powers, and our yearning to connect, to understand and to be understood,” Lavery explained. “We live in a time where vanity and the idea of self-worth has never been greater, hence the opening looping mantra “I love myself, most of all. Most of all, I love myself”, though we also have a lack of control over the decisions that frustrate the most. The song also deals with self-wallowing and repetition of bad decisions as a mechanism to steer into old habits to numb the feelings of helplessness.”

The latest track follows on from the previous rousing single ‘Ctrl Alt Del’ featuring the enigmatic English musician Liz Lawrence, which has received spins on BBC 6 Music by Huw Stephens and Nick Grimshaw.

Light Entertainment, Ciaran Lavery’s fifth album overall, is his most multi-layered and intriguing to date. With the upcoming record, he invites listeners into a world that is strange and fraught… not for the faint of heart. As Lavery explains, it is an “apocalypse record”, into which he has poured all of the paranoia, deceit, conflict and desperation that crashes like a tidal wave across our lives.

Catch Ciaran Lavery live next month, including unique concept show at the Lyric Theatre in Belfast, melding music and musical theatre together.
