Chloe Star – release new single ‘Games’

The new single by LA pop-punk sensation Chloe Star celebrates the thrill of playing dangerous games, no matter how things might end.

‘Games’ is the latest single by the singer who has amassed a legion of die-hard fans online and recently headlined her first US tour, as well as an acclaimed show in London.

Star said: “’Games’ makes me feel good; it makes me feel like a bad bitch. The story behind it is that I’ve been in so many relationships where I’ve been trying to figure out how to be in a relationship and I’ve been the bad guy, and I’ve played games. I’ve been so upfront in these past situationships that we’re playing games. It keeps it exciting and fun and nobody’s getting hurt. It’s just like: you’re playing games, I’m playing games – we’re both good at it. Let’s run it for however long we can and see what the f*ck happens.”

Speaking on the construction of the track, she adds: “The chorus of games is as straightforward as can be. It’s like: baby, I’m good at games. When I’m tapped into that zone, I am f*cking good at games, and I will play a game with you, and it’ll be a lot of fun! The verses are very playful. It’s as if this girl and I are out and I’m being crazy. I’m not only playing games in a situationship, but I’m playing games in life – it’s just fun, fun, playful. I sprinkled some ego because it’s ‘Chloe Star’ – it is really funny – the gang vocal in the second verse. I love that song – I’m really excited to put it out.”

Drawing in the listener with a thrilling opening, the song captures Chloe’s pull towards “the thrill of not knowing how something will end, even when I know it could destroy me”. Chasing adrenaline, ‘Games’ is about following the chaos, and whatever version of yourself is waiting on the other side.

Earlier this year, Star played to a packed out crowd in north London, receiving rave reviews, with MTV UK writing: “It’s in the name, @frenchtoastkiller is a STAR.” Hunger magazine wrote that “you’d be remiss to overlook the talent that is Chloe Star”.

The buzz in the Highbury venue was palpable as Chloe stormed the stage with fan favourites including ‘TNT’, ‘Emergency Contact’ and ‘I Didn’t Wanna Say Goodbye’.
