Chase Nova Band – release anti capitalist single ‘Here Comes The Guillotine’

Chase Nova Band announces the release of their newest single, ‘Here Comes The Guillotine. The first release from their as-yet-untitled debut album (due for release later in 2026) follows critically acclaimed release Madness Costs Nothing last December and will be released on all streaming platforms

“Privatise your profits; Socialise your losses; These Parasites Rent You Your Life, Then Cosplay as Your Prophets.”

““Here Comes The Guillotine” was written as a warning, though I’m sure it probably won’t reach the ears of those it is intended for” notes Chase. “I’m now in my 30’s and  you start to notice some recurring patterns about the world, one being how corporate success results in massive profits for shareholders, but corporate failure tends to result in taxpayer-funded bailouts. It’s an idea going back to the 1800’s with Henry George, and MLK Jnr often mentioned it in his speeches, too. ‘Capitalism for the rich and socialism for the poor’. Of course it’s now been 60 odd years since it became a cultural saying, and wealth inequality has skyrocketed since the era of Reaganomics/Thatcherism.”

‘Sister saviour sing your poetry to me, sing a broken melody so i feel less alone’ I’ve often thought that capitalism has very little future in mind for human satisfaction. Young men are now indoctrinated into this hyper-individualistic, ego-centric manosphere capitalism and it has nothing in store for them. It  wants them  to work until they literally can’t anymore in exchange for the most basic of needs, while intersectional feminism offers the potential of a meaningful life in pursuit of joy. ‘Brother builder build your tower ever higher, fill it with lunatics and liars, and let them take your homes’..

“Panem et circenses, is that what life’s meant to be? The cynic in me’s sleeping but the optimist is dead”

We’ve now passed the point of wealth inequality under which the French revolution took place. We may be lacking in collective bargaining under current conditions, but the spirit of musical collaboration within five separate individuals in soundscaping this track was downright inspiring to witness, and even more inspiring to appreciate now. As the Tragically Hip once sang: ‘Nothing’s dead down here, it’s just a little tired’.

It may be time for those elites to realise that there is an alternative to paying their fair share of taxes and allowing ordinary people access to a comfortable standard of living. But it is not what they seem to think it is.

“Here Comes The Guillotine” was written by Chase Nova Band (Chase Nova, Josh Meakin, Ken Tuohy, Georgia Lynch, James Peppard). It was recorded and produced by Chase Nova Band. It was mixed by bassist Ken Tuohy and mastered by Fergal Davis.
