Blood Wizard – release new single ‘I Know You Well’. New EP ‘Lucky Life’ out mid April

Blood Wizard today release new single I Know You Well, the third track to betaken from their upcoming EP ‘Lucky Life‘ which will be released April 16th on Sad Club Records. Blood Wizard will launch into a UK headline tour in April, a run which includes a stop at London’s Moth Club. They will also perform as part of the Young Barbican Takeover Festival – on a stage curated by Sad Club Records. Full dates below.

Recent singles Daydreaming and Lick The Big Star won praise from DIYSo YoungThe Line Of Best Fit (and more) as well as achieving numerous spins at BBC 6Music’s New Music Fix as well as John Kennedy at Radio X.

On new single, Cai from Blood Wizard says –

I Know You Well is about the people that I know and love the most, and the side effects of having that almost psychic connection with them.

It feels different to earlier Blood Wizard songs. We wanted to make something that sounded thicker and fuller, and bring in some of that hazy, shoegaze kind of atmosphere. I grew up on alternative guitar records, and this was me really leaning into that instinct, letting the guitars carry more weight and space than usual

The majority of the EP was written in South London, where the process (previously more of a solo venture for Cai Burns) became more experimental and collaborative. Rather than the usual band rehearsals, they spent more time at each other’s houses, messing around with the tracks, shifting the vocals and making samples, which has given the whole EP a different tone compared with previous releases.

“Lucky Life feels like a turning point for the project and we can’t wait to share what’s next” – Blood Wizard
