Belfast based band Brother Vice – explore heartbreak, hope and honesty with the release of their single “Somebody to Love” on January 17th

Recorded, mixed and mastered in Manor Park Studios with long-time collaborator Neal Calderwood (formerly of Sheer), who has worked with fellow Northern Irish bands General Fiasco, Dea Matrona and Red Eye Pariah, the new release follows the highly acclaimed single, “MONEY”, which earned airplay on Today FM, Blast106, Cool FM, Ros FM, Dublin City FM, 98FM and Dundalk FM.

Their first release of 2025, “Somebody to Love” sees Brother Vice return straight back to action and in top form as they continue their uplifting indie-rock journey. Lead guitarist Neil Mone says: “We’re really excited to release this new single to start 2025 off with a bang. We feel it’s one of our stronger singles over the last few years and can’t wait for people to hear it. It will be the first of many new things to come from us throughout the year”.

Lyrically focused on the complexities of toxic relationships, the band showcase their ability to intimately tap into universal experiences and connect one-to-one with their growing fanbase. The lead guitarist explains: “I feel the listener can draw a relation to the song from their own individual experiences. The lyrics touch on looking fondly at past relationships which may have been toxic and bad for you, but at some point we’re all guilty of been drawn to what’s bad for us, or looking at it through rose tinted glasses”.

The creative process of the track saw the band’s organic ideas come to life in the practice room, before being shaped by spontaneous decision-making moments in the studio; A formula that has driven their ethos since formation.  Blending lush, reverberating guitars, driving grooves and an infectious chorus, what results is a resonant and refreshing indie anthem that embraces the highs and lows of love.
