Beks – brings high power voltage with her debut EP ”Hard Gloss” featuring new single ”Who You Kidding”

Beks is your go-to hype girl, an artist whose infectious energy and motivational spirit will help bring out your inner diva. After selling out her Camden Assembly show, making a big impression at London’s Mighty Hoopla, touring with Canadian pop star Madelline, Beks is now set to take her fresh and fearless take on club-inspired contemporary pop to new audiences with today’s release of her debut EP ‘Hard Gloss’. It is released alongside the new single ‘Who You Kidding’.

Her new single ‘Who You Kidding’ is the perfect introduction to Beks’ artistry. Its electrifying electro-pop, pulsating beat and Beks’ chic vocals make for a track which feels like the link between classic Kylie Minogue and the contemporary flair of Kim Petras. Its lyrics confront the stories we tell ourselves to survive, and explores what happens when the previously hidden truth breaks out.

She adds, “It’s the sound of high-voltage empowerment. Part of it was written under a rusty umbrella on my manager’s balcony in the middle of a lightning storm in London. I dropped all creative filters and let the truth drive the song. That bridge? It’s my proudest moment.”

The ‘Hard Gloss’ EP fuses cutting-edge club-pop with raw, introspective storytelling, and showcases Beks’ ability to pair emotional depth with sharp, stylised production built for dancefloors and after hours vibes.

The project is the culmination of a turning point for Beks, who stepped away from extensive writing camps to take full creative control. Working with producer PALMR, she carved out a sound that feels distinctively her own: club-informed pop with a cinematic edge powered by punchy rhythms and emotional intensity. The EP was completed with top tier mixing courtesy ofTim Rowkins (Rina SawayamaLady Gaga) and mastering from Robin Schmidt (Charli XCX).

Beks says, “I’d spent so much time writing for and with others, I needed to find my own voice again. There was no safety net this time. Just me, backing myself. ‘Hard Gloss’ is what came out of that.”

The EP includes the recent tracks ‘I Knew A Girl’, a viral and unexpected take on forgiveness and solidarity; the drama-drenched ‘Melodrama’; and the high-gloss ‘Butter’. Along with ‘Who You Kidding’, the EP sees Beks define a sonic identity that is both emotionally honest and unapologetically polished.
