Angine de Poitrine – Dublin shpow upgraded to Vicar Street due to demand

Disciples of planet Earth’s rock deities, space-time voyagers Klek and Khn de Poitrine gaze in wonder at hot dogs, pyramids, and rock music in all its glorious excess.

Formed in Saguenay, the masked duo have rapidly emerged as one of the most talked-about new acts in global experimental music. Combining microtonal guitar, looping techniques and tightly interlocked drum patterns, their sound is a mix of math rock with elements of techno, jazz and performance art.

Their international breakthrough arrived in early 2026 via a live session for Seattle tastemaker platform KEXP, recorded at Trans Musicales in Rennes. Coverage has followed across international music media. Writing about the KEXP session, No Treble described the band’s sound as “rhythmically hypnotic and harmonically sideways.”  Meanwhile, Hypebot characterised their rapid rise as “a celestial supernova forming in real time,” pointing to the speed at which their online momentum has translated into global touring demand.

On stage, the duo’s performances are as distinctive visually as they are sonically, featuring full-body costumes and papier-mâché masks that reinforce their surreal, theatrical identity.

Despite their recent breakout, Angine de Poitrine has been developing their project for years, with their 2024 debut Vol. 1 building early momentum across Canada.

Since the release of Vol. 1 in 2024, Angine de Poitrine has been in the eye of an ever-growing storm of enthusiasm from audiences, critics, and music industry’s main actors. After delivering electrifying performances at Quebec’s major festivals, including the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, Angine de Poitrine now sets their sights on the prestigious Trans Musicales in Rennes.

ABOUT Vol. 2 Out 3 April 2026

Repetition. Isn’t that the very essence of loop-based music? Hell no!
Their follow-up record, Vol. II, released on 3 April 2026, arrives amid a surge in international attention, including sold-out UK shows and major festival appearances.

A brisk, high-voltage album, Vol. 2 stretches the boundaries of the genre with even bolder, more dynamic structures. Its humour lies in the details, waiting to be decoded. Once again, three essential forces fuel the inspiration of the duo: acid techno, disco, and rock.
