Ambient-indie rock duo Kin Tala – release summer single ‘Howling’

After a sold-out debut show on home turf and with over 250,000 streams across platforms, KIN TALA looks to continue 2025 with new releases, performances and collaborations. Building on their momentum, the genre-blurring duo is set to drop the highly anticipated single ‘Howling. With a grassroots fanbase and a sound that defies convention, KIN TALA is quickly establishing itself as one of the most exciting acts to watch this year.

On new single ‘Howling’, KIN TALA comment:

“The track Howling captures the essence of how I feel about modern life—where there’s a constant worry about what our society is becoming, whether we’re stuck holding down jobs that don’t provide security, or were fabricating our lives and relationships via social media – it all makes me want to go back to the past and live a simpler life. Recorded and mixed independently, we wanted ‘Howling’ to be an experiment of saturated textures and rhythmic energy, conveying that angst and yearning for something easier, simpler and more natural.”

KIN TALA is the moniker of Dom Rogers and Shee Juma – two producers whose songwriting stretches back to school days. Originally from Blackpool in the North West of England, the boys met at a band practice in college and played music together before exchanging a word. Becoming fast friends soon after, the pair wrote and recorded throughout university, fine-tuning their craft independently and dreaming up big ideas.

KIN TALA released their first taster tracks to regional acclaim, featuring on BBC Introducing. Intro tracks ‘Swallow’ and ‘Coast’ were praised for their blend of pride and angst, and their nod to the North’s rich music heritage and culture. Heads held high, KIN TALA moved into bold new territory – never feeling too comfortable in one particular space. In 2023, the pair followed through with their first major single, ‘everything & all’. The track celebrated life and founding new beginnings, featuring dynamic samples to mark the first major commercial success for the duo.

KIN TALA‘s first self-released EP, Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost (2024) emboldened the lad’s track record to push boundaries. Quintessentially TALA-esque, the project featured in outlets such as EARMILK, FAME Mag and the Music Production Podcast praised and pondered, serving as an ode to honest communities, folk, family and friends, for those left behind, and for those still to come.
