Alt pop and electronic duo Sistra – release their new single, ‘Daffodils’

Alt-pop and electronic duo SISTRA release their new single, ‘Daffodils’, out now via AWAL. It is their fourth single release taken from the upcoming debut album, She Won’t Let Go, which is set for release on Friday 29th May.

On ‘Daffodils’, SISTRA pick up from where they left off on their previous three singles, ‘Double Edged Sword’, ‘Things I Really Mean’, and ‘Is It Just Me?’, continuing their sonic shift from what has come before this debut album campaign. Their sound incorporates avant-pop, art-pop, and hyper-pop aesthetics, and leans into electronic motifs. ‘Daffodils’ features production by Micah Jasper (Lily Allen, Ashnikko), and Jon Shave (Charli xcx, Miley Cyrus, Jessie Ware).

The new single is the fourth release taken from their upcoming album, following ‘Double Edged Sword’‘Things I Really Mean’, and ‘Is It Just Me?’.

Speaking about ‘Daffodils’, Sasha Briggs from SISTRA said:

“This is probably the darkest song we’ve written – about the full desperation that comes with being in a codependent relationship. I feel like I’m trying my best to make her happy, but then behave badly when it doesn’t feel acknowledged. We also felt inspired by a line about Daffodils in Oliver and wanted to use nature and rotting as a symbol of a toxic, festering relationship…Love you sis”.

SISTRA’s debut album, She Won’t Let Go, has been executive produced by Jon Shave (Charli xcx, Miley Cyrus, Jessie Ware), and features production by Chloe Kraemer (The Japanese House, Wet Leg, Rachel Chinouriri), and Micah Jasper (Lily Allen, Ashnikko, Rebecca Black).

SISTRA are a London-based alt-pop duo made up of sisters Sasha and Sylvie Briggs. With an eclectic sound, their music oscillates between influences such as Charli xcx, Oklou and Caroline Polacheck. SISTRA have one of the freshest and most invigorating sounds on the scene today, and they are set to be one of the most exciting bands in the UK for years to come. Stay tuned for more new music and news in the coming months.
