All we Have are Days – A winter weekend with Music at its Heart announces new performances, conversations, film screenings and events

As Ireland’s newest bank holiday weekend draws closer, so too does All we Have are Days, Limerick’s festival of music and conversation, running Friday January 30th to Monday February 2nd inclusive.

The city will welcome thousands over St. Brigid’s Weekend for more than fifty events across churches, museums, cultural spaces, venues and pubs. Intimate shows, rousing sessions, secret gigs, discourse and debate and late night clubs, All we Have are Days promises a weekend of discovery and connection celebrating the rich seam of sounds emanating from Ireland right now, and the work, ambition and courage of the Irish abroad. 

The festival programme and tickets are available at allwehavearedays.com with more announcements to follow. Individual show tickets are priced from €12.50 to €38.50, while many events across the weekend are free. 

The 061’s very own Denise Chaila will kick off the long weekend with her first headline show in more than four years, gathering friends and special guests in the stunning surrounds of The People’s Museum at No. 2 Pery Square in the heart of Georgian Limerick. Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody brings music and conversation to the 200-year old John’s Church on Saturday January 31st, in performance and conversation with UL’s Dr. Jennifer McMahon. And with their first Days show on Sunday February 1st now sold out, ØXN – Katie Kim, Percolator’s Eleanor Myler, and Lankum’s Radie Peat & John ‘Spud’ Murphy – have announced a second festival date at John’s Church on Bank Holiday Monday, February 2nd. Support on the night will be from the extraordinary singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Anna B Savage.

Newly added to the line-up are shows and appearances from intergalactic rock star Sexy Tadhg, Irish-Palestinian artist Róisín El Cherif, Limerick shoegazers Mother of Pearl, Dinorah and Maisie’s Room, Ennis based 15-piece band Circus Ponies, Opening Bars, Shakalak, BabyRat and more to come. Donal Dineen will screen his short film Dance to Remember at Film in Limerick’s Engine Building on Friday, stopping over in Limerick to take to the decks with Irish dance trailblazer Arveene in Mickey Martin’s on Saturday night. 

On Saturday afternoon, Days x London Irish Center converge on The People’s Museum for conversations on culture and connection with Arveene, multi award winning BBC podcast commissioner Dylan Haskins, and Irish-born barber Leah Hayden Cassidy founder of East London salon Croí, all hosted by award-winning author Sinéad Gleeson. A must-see for artists, makers and creators, Sunday afternoon at The People’s Museum offers Days x Edinburgh Fringe Festival, a conversation on the challenge of making art right now and the central role of festivals in bringing artists’ work to new and wider audiences. The event will feature  award-winning Limerick-based playwright and performer Joanne Ryan, playwright and actor Hannah Power and Edinburgh Fringe Artist Development Officer Martha Haskins. Two Limerick legends – sign artist Tom Collins and world renowned drummer and musician Fergal Lawler, come together at The People’s Museum on Bank Holiday Monday to talk life, work, friendship and music.

With shows from Paul Noonan and Brian Crosby’s Pilgrims, Limerick indie rockers Dylan Flynn & The Dead Poets, Cuban-Irish singer Qbanaa, English born/Nashville based troubadour Josh Okeefe, Dublin rapper Curtisy, former Revelino guitarist and singer turned solo artist Bren Berry, Steve ón dings, T.A. Narrative, Aoife NicCanna, Strictly Rhythm,the Trad Folkin’ Rocks Trad Bus, Keith Kelly’s A River Runs Through It, a Pellador pop-up and artist collaband so much more, All we Have are Days is shaping up to be one hell of a long weekend in Limerick.

All we Have are Dayswill welcome artists to Limerick’s favourite venues and pubs, with many secret sessions and last minute sets from headliners being announced the week of the festival. Days revellers can explore the warm and welcoming hospitality of the city, stopping off at The White House, Tom Collins, J.J. Bowles, Dolan’s, Mother Mac’s, Jerry Flannery’s, The Commercial, Mickey Martin’s, Bobby Byrnes, Flannery’s, Pharmacia, The Glen Tavern, Myles Breen’s and The Coach House, while discovering the history and heritage of Limerick at The People’s Museum, John’s Church and the many incredible museums, galleries and historical sites that have shaped this beautiful city over centuries.
