Alexandra Kay – live gallery & review from The Academy Dublin 20.05.25

Alexandra Kay from Illinois packed out the Academy last night the 20th of May 2025. Originally set to perform in Whelan’s, The show was quickly changed to the Academy as Whelan’s could just not hold the amount of fans rushing to buy tickets for the show.

A recent change in the wind in Ireland has seen the Irish absolutely buuuzzzn for some country music. Something I can’t yet get behind. Credence Clearwater and Crosby Still’s are the closest you will find me enjoying country music, but luckily for Alex Kay, TikTok is a hub for hollow minded fans to pick up on her tunes and her music is forever revolving around the brains of these like minded fans.

The Tik Tok generation are soaking up this change in the music scene and sure who’s to know if it’s for the worst or the best.

Clearly something is working as these shows are selling out fast.
