AIR – Moon Safari anniversary tour live gallery and review from Fairview Park Dublin 17.06.2025

On a calm June evening under the canvas of Fairview Park, French electronic duo AIR returned to Dublin on their Moon Safari anniversary tour. Marking nearly three decades since the release of their seminal debut, Nicolas Godin and Jean‑Benoît Dunckel transported us through a sonic dreamscape that felt both timeless but modern.

As twilight settled outside the tent, a soft ambient hum ushered in the evening’s first notes and the unmistakable synth-bass of La Femme d’Argent. Instantly, the audience was adrift in the duo’s signature world – lush, downtempo, and drenched in analog warmth. What followed was a carefully constructed narrative built around Moon Safari and key selections from across AIR’s discography. The instrumental of Alone in Kyoto – famously used in Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation, was one of the evening’s most moving moments.

Despite the large crowd, there was a shared stillness that’s rarely found at live shows – proof of the duo’s ability to command attention through a quiet intensity. Their pacing remains largely unchanged since the 1990s, and that’s precisely what makes them feel so refreshing in 2025. In a musical landscape oversaturated with immediacy and volume, AIR offered something more gentle… no grand finale, no fireworks, but a quiet brilliance.
